To eliminate odors from the sofa, follow these steps:
- Open the windows to let fresh air in.
- Vacuum the sofa thoroughly.
- Use a solution of water and vinegar to clean the sofa and wash any cushions.
- Mix water and a gentle detergent, apply with a soft cloth, and then remove with a clean cloth.
- For odors, use vinegar, baking soda, or citric acid.
- Sprinkle baking soda on the sofa, leave it overnight, and vacuum the next day.
- Rosewater will give a pleasant fragrance. Use detergent on the affected areas as directed.
Mix a glass of vinegar with a liter of hot water and baking soda, spray on the sofa, and leave it without rinsing.
To refresh a fabric sofa:
- Mix water, white vinegar, and eucalyptus essential oil.
- Apply the mixture on the entire surface of the sofa with a wrung cloth.
- Vinegar and oil will eliminate dust mites.
For non-removable sofas, use high-temperature steam. If the smell persists, try water and vinegar, but not on delicate fabrics. To neutralize bad odors, there are fabric sprays to mist. For urine odors outside the house, clean with alcohol and boiling water. To prevent cats from urinating around, use a bottle of water or camphor-based repellent.
